BlackBerry Torch 9800 Review

Over the years BlackBerry has been well received for the flexibility it offers. Push mail, easy access to phone book contacts, most of it as easily available. BlackBerry is powerful, smart and a very helpful device.

Over the years I’ve always been using Apple, HTC, Nokia, SonyEricsson so I finally decided to have a g at BlackBerry. I was lucky enough to get my hands on BlackBerry latest mobile phone that being the BlackBerry torch.

Very first feeling of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is that it’s smooth, neat, well-crafted and looks rich  The blackish chrome like appearance draws ones attention, oh yeah it’s a BlackBerry after all;)

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Back

Let us now glance through the BlackBerry Torch Specs:-

The Torch 9800 has dimensions of111 x 62 x 14.6 mm and weighs just 161 grams. It has a16 million rich 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. The display is bright and crisp and everything can be read clearly. However, the screen isn’t as rich and vibrant like that of the iPhone.

The presence of a QWERTY keyboard below the screen is a blessing. It’s well laid out and is typing is quite convenient. There’s an Optical Trackpad as well on the 9800 Torch, however I wouldn’t have had this  Continue reading

After a much  awaited wait, Codemasters finally released their latest version of the Official Formula 1 2010 racing game. Apple mighty wireless mouse

Overview

Apple without doubt is the leader when it comes down to producing cutting edge technology. Right from the iPod to the Macbook, Apple have rocked and taken the computer world by storm.

I’m not only a proud owner of a Macbook and an iPhone, but also one of Apple’s best selling peripheral devices;- the “Apple mighty wireless mouse” Well, one shouldn’t underestimate the size and shape of this mouse;- it’s a dynamite.

Neat, sleek, and well crafted – the Apple mighty wireless mouse is simply stunning. It got what it takes and beats most of the other mice out there in my opinion. It’s quick on the surface and simply looks appealing. Swipe left and you take the browser to the previous page, towards the right and you move to the next page. That’s not all, by simply sliding upwards and downwards, one can easily scroll up and down a particular page, be it a web-page or a document page. This Macintosh mouse works on Bluetooth frequency and it’s rock solid. Never a glitch, it’s as smooth as silk.

Conclusion

All said and done, the Apple mighty wireless mouse is one top notch mice from Apple and is worth every penny spent on it :)

Motorola BACKFLIP Android Mobile Phone review

Overview

After the launch of Milestone, Motorola has come out with another Android based mobile phone;- the Motorola BACKFLIP…

I was lucky enough to get hold of this latest mobile of theirs and have a go at it :) Let’s have a look at what’s new, great, exciting about the Android Motorola BACKFLIP.

Firstly, the Motorola BACKFLIP is sturdy and has a good flip mechanism, unlike some of the HTC mobiles such a Tytn/ Tytn 2 which had a somewhat delicate slide mechanism and scratched the keyboard in certain areas after a couple of slides. The BACKFLIP is cool and the QWERTY keyboard which flips is definitely sturdy on this one.

The BACKFLIP has dimensions of 108 x 53 x 15.3 mm and weighs 133 grams. The screen is 3.1 inches, slightly smaller than the iPhone 3Gs and the Google Nexus One Android mobile phone which is even bigger than the iPhone 3Gs..

Coming down to the keyboard, although the BACKFLIP has a sturdy QWERTY keyboard, it is a bit hard to type on. The keys are a bit hard to press and isn’t as soft as some of the other phones I’ve used. However, they key’s are well lit up with a white back-light and towards the left hand side of the QWERTY keyboard lies the camera Flash, something I’ve not seen before ;)

With regards to performance, the BACKFLIP is powered by Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor which is a bit slower than the iPhone 3GS and way slower as compared with the Nexus One’s 1Ghz Snapdragon processor :)

The 5 MegaPixel Camera is cool and captures images at a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. Additionally it also has auto-focus and LED flash.

Conclusion

All is all, the phone is value for money as compared with the Google Nexus One and definitely leads the line where Android phones are concerned.
